Caroline calls 9-1-1, where Jacob’s mom, Darlene — whom we knew was a police department dispatcher — talks her through CPR while the ambulance heads toward his office. Catching up with her daughters, Dani asks if she’s been too involved in their lives… and Hayley’s marriage. They say yes, but they wouldn’t have it any other way. Just then, Jacob calls to tell Naomi that Bill has been hospitalized. She and Dani hurry to the hospital, where Bill has been rushed into surgery.
Hayley arrives in full-blown drama mode, pretending to be concerned. Dani calls Hayley’s behavior inappropriate and before long, the gloves are off between them! Shanice does her best to break up the fight, but not before Dani — hot under the collar — insists, “I will always be there for my husband!” As Dani privately worries to her parents that Bill could die, Hayley tells Ashley to place a note in her husband’s file stating that his ex-wife is not allowed anywhere near him!
Eva Pushes Izaiah Away
Eva continues to push Izaiah away, and he does his best to make it clear that her scars mean nothing to him. She, however, feels disfigured. He echoes Ted’s suggestion that she see a psychiatrist. “I’m not the bad guy here, Eva, but for some reason you’re working overtime to make me one,” he says before walking out of the apartment. She gets lost in memories of their relationship, while Jacob gets some good advice from his mom. He heads back to the apartment for a heart-to-heart conversation with Eva, who finally seems to be letting the wall come down so he can take his lady into his arms for a romantic smooch.
Vanessa Gets Played
Vanessa and Joey discuss their plans to have dinner with Heather when he gets a call that the security cameras in the casino are down. No sooner does he head out to the casino floor than Heather enters, cracks open his good tequila and has Vanessa doing shots! Heather gives Vanessa her stamp of approval. But later, as Joey warns a drunk Vanessa that his sister always has an agenda, we discover that Heather was only pretending to drink the shots and is stone-cold sober!
Next on Beyond the Gates, Bill’s health takes a turn for the worse even as he makes a request we suspect will cause Hayley to have a fit!
