After Hayley Saves Him From a Sandwich, Bill Comes Face-to-Face With Andre — Plus, Can Tomas Be Trusted?

Joey meets Vanessa at the Country Club, where he discovers she’s meeting Heather for tennis later. However, he points out that his sister doesn’t play. But first, they interrupt a tense conversation between Andre and Dani about her attentiveness toward Bill. When Ted calls, Andre takes the chance to leave the club altogether. Dani unconvincingly assures Vanessa and Joey that things couldn’t be better between them.

When Joey leaves the women to discuss Dani’s extreme reaction to Bill nearly dying, Vanessa urges her friend to admit that she still loves him. But she loves Andre too, Dani tearfully points out, and he’s the man she wants to be with. Vanessa wonders why it sounds as though she’s trying to convince herself. Dani knows she has to put her current husband first and get her ex out of her system.

Only Hayley Can Kill Bill

Hayley steps in when, at Bill’s request, Kat sneaks a baby back rib sandwich into his hospital room. Kat leaves after trading barbs with Hayley, who pushes the unhealthy sandwich back at her. As Hayley emphasizes how worried she is about Bill, he tells her to stop the doting wife act. There’s no audience anymore. Faced with Hayley’s mock offense, Bill apologizes. He’s simply unhappy about being back in the hospital. Plus, he’s hangry.

Joey stops by as Bill falls for another of Hayley’s woe-is-me-the-Duprees-hate-me performances. Alone with the patient, Joey suggests that if Garland Memorial can’t determine what’s wrong with him, Bill should find someone who can. Joey later runs into Hayley in the lobby, where he ominously warns that he’s watching.

Smitty and Martin create a Banneker spirit explosion in their living room in an effort to lift a mopey Tyrell’s spirits. A disdainful Samantha leaves to advise Jessica to make a clean break with Tyrell. No more keeping tabs on him through her and his socials. It only gives him hope. When she returns home, she echoes their dads’ sentiments that he is bigger than one bad breakup. He’ll accomplish great things in college and forget all about Jessica.

Untrustworthy

Tomas and Naomi clash again when he finds her in Bill’s office. She puts him in his place when he accuses her of marking her territory. Not to mention, he didn’t even ask about Bill’s well-being. After things settle down between them, Naomi privately thanks Caroline, with a self-care gift basket, for saving Bill’s life. When she asks what Caroline thinks of Tomas, Bill’s assistant admits that she doesn’t trust him.

Kat meets Tomas at Orphey Gene’s to hear about his encounter with Naomi. He only wants to help and asks Kat to have a conversation with her cousin. She firmly tells him she won’t take sides. Besides, nothing will change Naomi’s mind once she has made it up.

After Andre vents to Ted about Dani and Bill, his uncle advises Andre to confront both of them directly. Andre begins by paying Bill a visit in his hospital room.

Next on Beyond the Gates, an interesting opportunity comes Smitty’s way, and Caroline and Hayley play a game of cat and mouse.
