Traci and Nina meet Christine at The Shadow Room. They order cocktails and settle into a booth. Cricket admits she thought Danny would get bored with the club, but he really seems determined to stick with it. They reminisce about the past as they sip their cocktails. The topic of Chance comes up, and Nina admits she’s been coping with her grief thanks to a man she met in her therapy group.
The trio orders another round and toasts to friends, both new and old. They have another round, and Traci explains that she recently had to confront Martin. That made her realize she isn’t to blame for anything that happened. This convinced her that she’s open to love again and deserves it. Joining hands, they discuss how grateful they are for their friendship.
Devon Won’t Cooperate
When Devon joins Lily and Cane at Society, his sister explains that the family is dealing with a serious issue. Devon immediately suggests that they discuss it privately. This leads to bickering between the men. Lily tries to stop her brother. He gets irritated when she refers to herself and Cane as an “Us.” Devon wants nothing to do with this until his sister explains that this is actually about Katherine’s legacy. After they tell him what they know about Billy’s claims to Chancellor, Devon surprises them by saying that his grandmother would honor the deal, so they should too.
His sister can’t believe he thinks that way. Devon shrugs. Lily accuses him of not caring because Cane is in charge at Chancellor. Devon reminds her that she has Winters to run entirely on her own. She doesn’t need Chancellor at all. The siblings argue. Ashby is certain this is all about him. Devon thinks fighting it is pointless, but Lily refuses to back down and accuses him of being petty for refusing to support her. Her brother slinks away.
Billy’s Bursting with Big News
Sally is perplexed when she catches Billy and Audra toasting at the Athletic Club. She can’t wait to hear an explanation. Audra welcomes her friend back and hurries off. Billy announces that he has great news.
They sit at a table, and he tells her the story of the secret loan. He’s certain no one knew about it, but Jill and she kept it from him for years. Now those days are finished, and he’s taking Chancellor back.
Sally asks if he’s confident this is legitimate. He is. She’s certain this will mean a long and brutal fight. He believes it will all be worth it. Sally admits that when he first brought up Chancellor, she worried about his old obsession. He insists that it’s different this time. The payoff will be worth the battle. He never expected this. It landed in his lap like karma.
Adam is Smug
Chelsea and Adam meet at Crimson Lights. She’s just killed a story about Nick’s trip to rehab. Adam explains that he’s just landed a story about Billy boy. Chelsea is skeptical, but he explains that his source heard the Abbotts unearthed old papers suggesting Chancellor belongs to them. If true, this could become a huge war, and they could break the story first. He can’t help but smirk at what a mess this is going to create for everyone. Maybe it could even break up Sally and Billy?
Chelsea worries about how smug Adam is becoming. He admits this could all be good for Billy… at least until his character takes over and he crashes and burns as usual. He suggests that she talk to her ex herself since he’s likely to tell her more than a reporter. She’s reluctant, but makes him promise to play the story straight, or there will be hell to pay. Adam is reassuring, but what will she do to him if he doesn’t? They flirt a little, and he urges her to go speak to Billy. She agrees to take one for the team.
The Final Scenes
Back at Society, Lily considers how much is owed to the Abbotts and calls Jack to arrange a meeting. She has a proposition for him.
At The Shadow Room, Traci gets the bartender’s number, and Nina tells her friends they need to agree to do this more often.
At the Athletic Club, Billy complains to Sally about getting no support and Jack and their sisters falling in line. He doesn’t care. He can do this without them because the truth is on his side.
